The Experience

Every portrait begins with a conversation and ends with artwork that belongs on your walls. Here's what working with Guy Finley Studios looks like from start to finish.

01

The Consultation

Every portrait begins with a conversation — not a form. You'll tell us what you're envisioning: who the session is for, what you want to feel when you look at the finished artwork, and what this portrait means to you.

We listen first. This conversation shapes everything that follows — the session design, the mood, the final artwork. By the time you arrive for your session, nothing feels like a surprise.

02

Design & Wardrobe

Before your session, we come to your home. We'll look at your walls, talk through your wardrobe, and design the shoot around your actual space — so your portraits are made to hang in your home, not just exist in a cloud folder.

We'll photograph the walls you have in mind and build mockups so you can see exactly how the finished artwork will look at scale before you ever choose anything.

Hair and makeup is available through our preferred partner for VIP sessions.

03

Your Session

The session itself is the fun part. Relaxed, personal, and designed entirely around you. There's no shot list to rush through — just time to breathe, to laugh, and to let the real moments happen.

Because we've done the design work ahead of time, the session flows naturally. You're not making decisions on the fly — you're just showing up and being yourself.

04

The Gallery Reveal

About two weeks after your session, we return to your home with your finished images. You'll see your portraits the way they were meant to be seen — on your own walls, to scale, in the rooms where they'll actually live.

We'll show you wall art mockups designed around the photos we took of your space during the Design & Wardrobe visit. Then we'll help you choose the artwork that belongs there.

This is how portraits become heirlooms. You're not scrolling through a gallery link at midnight trying to pick your favorites. You're looking at your images the way your family will — on the wall, where they matter.

05

Heirloom Artwork

Your portraits are printed through White House Custom Colour — the same lab trusted by the nation's top portrait studios. Canvas. Metal. Framed prints. Albums designed to last generations.

Not drugstore prints. Not digital downloads. Art.

Every piece is crafted to archival standards and delivered ready to hang. This is what it means for a photograph to live on your wall.
